‘Eswaramma Puraskara Samarambha’ honouring women of exemplary social commitments
started in the year 2010 by the Mahila Vibhag of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Kamataka
and is held every year in February at Brindavan.
A BRIEF ACCOUNT OF THE ESWARAMMA PURASKARA SAMARAMBHA
ORIGIN
The Eswaramma Puraskara Samarambha was conceived by the esteemed members of the Mahila Vibhag in Bangalore with a noble vision to recognize and honour extraordinary women making impactful contributions to society.In the spirit of reverence for the Divine Mother, the program was named Eswaramma Puraskara Samarambha. This idea received a resounding endorsement from the then State President, Sri Nagesh Dhakappa,who advised that this should be a state level programme.
The program received the Divine blessings from our merciful Bhagawan on the evening of 27thOctober 2010, during the Karnataka Parthi Yatra.Swami further conveyed to the State President that this should be conducted as an annual event.This marked the beginning of a tradition that has since been cherished and upheld annually with unwavering devotion and dedication, by Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Karnataka in line with Bhagawan's Divine direction.
SELECTION OF CANDIDATES
Eswaramma Puraskara Samarambha committee, headed by a convenor follows a criteria for the selection of candidates.The selection criteria meticulously reflect Swami's message of "Manava seva is Madhava seva,"emphasizing the importance of genuine, heartfelt service to those in need.Since its inception in 2010,the award has been conferred annually to exemplary women for their contributions in Sociocare, Educare, and Medicare.
CRITERIA FOR SELECTION
1. The chosen awardee/s should belong to Karnataka.
2. The awardee should exemplify love and selfless service towards all-Nishkama karma
3. The candidate should be passionate about her seva.
4. The candidate should be 55years and above in age.
5. The candidate should not be a member of the Sathya Sai Seva Organisation.
6. The Eswaramma Puraskara committee will select the awardees.
VETTING PROCESS
The diligent vetting process ensures the integrity and authenticity of the selection, driven by a sense of fairness and impartiality upheld by the Eswaramma Puraskara Samarambha committee members. The Sri Sathya Sai Seva organization members of the candidate's district are contacted to verify the information received. The convenor with the committee members, decides the awardees of the year.
The State President call for a meeting and the program schedule is decided for the year.
